What is your role at Peterson?

As a Requirement and Support Engineer, I try to orchestrate the crucial link between users expectations and the system implementation. I thrive in the collection, analysis, and documentation of requirements, forming the essential groundwork for achieving successful project outcomes. My role extends beyond the initial planning phase, as I actively engage in providing ongoing support to ensure the seamless integration of requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

My department is responsible for system development, especially for certification support. Some examples of the systems are ICU (texiles system), Connected (tracebillity system) and CuCert (Global certification system).

What is your background?

At the age of 23, I successfully completed my studies and earned a degree in computer engineering in Argentina. Coming from a background deeply rooted in a passion for technology, I have always been fascinated by the intricate world of information systems. Throughout my academic journey, I delved into various aspects of computer science, gaining a comprehensive understanding of programming languages, product definition, and system architecture management.

Why did you choose to join Peterson?

I became a part of the company due to its admirable commitment to ecological sustainability, recycling initiatives, and ethical practices. The company’s unique approach was a refreshing perspective for me, and I was genuinely enthusiastic about contributing to a workplace culture that prioritized environmental consciousness. Additionally, the prospect of collaborating with colleagues from diverse global backgrounds heightened my appreciation, fostering an environment that aligned with my values and professional aspirations.

Where do you live and work?

I live in Buenos Aires. I work from the Buenos Aires (Beccar) office, when I’m in Argentina, but most of the year I’m travelling and working from different offices like Berlin, Zwolle in The Netherlands, Lisbon, and Lima.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

What I enjoy most is the opportunity to connect with colleagues from various parts of the world, understanding their cultures, and learning from them. Witnessing how the systems we develop contribute to and streamline their daily work brings me great satisfaction. It’s not just about creating solutions; it’s about making a tangible impact on the daily professional lives of my global peers.

What opportunities did you have already at Peterson?

I’ve had the opportunity to explore new countries, enhance my skills through various courses, and practice different languages. This experience has not only broadened my horizons personally but has also allowed me to grow professionally. Forming and leading teams, efficiently managing tasks, and acquiring new competencies have been integral aspects of my professional development journey within the company.

What was your most memorable work day?

I was hired during the covid pandemic, leading me to start working remotely while my entire team was based in Germany. After the pandemic subsided, I had the opportunity to travel to Germany and meet my colleagues in person. It was my first solo trip outside of Latin America, filled with fears, but upon arriving at the office, I was welcomed as if I were at home. That meeting with my team became a truly unforgettable experience.

What would you say to present Peterson to other companies?

I would focus on highlighting its global approaches to sustainable practices and its commitment to corporate social responsibility. I would discuss how the company’s initiatives align with current global challenges and emphasize the positive impact it has on both the environment and the community. What is your best advice to people who want to join Peterson?
